We are growing while taking care of our environment

Our Journey toward a BRIGHT FUTURE of SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION

Packaging plays a vital role in ensuring that products get to the consumer as intended, by minimizing unnecessary waste and damage. As our planet goes through a period of unprecedented change, Rieke is committed to playing our part to contribute to a sustainable future.

Sustainable Materials

Alternate Text

As a manufacturer, raw materials are at the core of what we do. By utilizing the 3-R’s (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), we are on a journey toward a circular economy, where materials flow around a closed loop system.

We are substituting non-renewable and unfavorable raw materials with renewable alternatives in our products, as cost and scale permit.

We are dramatically increasing the number of products we offer that contain post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials. We strive to avoid the unintended consequences of substituting one material for another, which may, for example, reduce plastic consumption, but dramatically increase carbon footprint.

Sustainable Products

To make significant steps toward a sustainable future, we believe that great product design is key. By effectively optimizing a product’s design, we can significantly reduce demand on raw materials and resources.

At the end of life, good design allows the product to be easily reused, recycled or composted. Moving away from a linear model of consumption and toward a circular economy is not only good for the environment, but it also makes great business sense.

Sustainable Initiatives

Alternate Text

People are at the core of everything we do. Without them, our factories would not run and our offices would cease to exist.

Our people are committed to delivering a brighter, more sustainable future and that is why they have pioneered a number of initiatives. Examples include reducing our energy and water demands in our factories, designing products with an ever increasing amount of recycled content, recycling office waste and reducing carbon dioxide emissions from our factories and logistics.

To deliver our sustainability commitments, we know that we must reduce the environmental impact of our operations.

We aim to reduce our raw material and energy consumption, while maximizing energy and material recovery. We have and will continue to reduce energy consumption per unit of production and use renewable energy wherever possible.

We continuously improve the transportation of our raw materials and finished products, using the most environmentally and economically efficient methods that are as safe as possible.
